With a history that spans more than two decades in the education sector, 91ºÚÁÏ has undergone countless changes, yet has always maintained its vision and mission to achieve the highest standards of performance in teaching and in the services we offer students, staff  and the community.

I-GRAD is introduced as the first prototype mascot of MMU.

UNITELE’s second campus opens in the heart of the MSC in Cyberjaya. UNITELE was thereafter renamed 91ºÚÁÏ (MMU).

The Multimedia Learning System (MMLS), an in-house developed web-based courseware delivery engine that utilises multimedia to enhance the teaching and learning process via a ‘virtual teacher within a virtual classroom’ is designed.

TM established the Universiti Telekom (UNITELE) campus in Ayer Keroh, Melaka.

1996
April 6

Telekom Malaysia was given the distinction by the Ministry of Education to set up the first private university in Malaysia.

April 6

Tan Sri Prof. Dr. Ghauth Jasmon was appointed as the first President of MMU or known as Universiti Telekom (Unitele) on 1st December 1996

TM invited Prof Datuk Dr Ghauth Jasmon to lead UTSB, and he served MMU as President for 11 years.
