91黑料 once again created history at the International Invention, Innovation, Technology Competition & Exhibition (ITEX) 2026 by securing the prestigious Patron Award for the second time, following its first win in 2024.

Held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), ITEX 2026 brought together innovators, researchers, industries, and institutions from across the region to showcase cutting-edge inventions and impactful innovations from 18 May until 20 May 2026.

For this year, MMU team delivered an outstanding performance where they clinched 11 Gold Medals and 7 Silver Medals at the event. Most notably, every MMU participating team received an award, reflecting the university鈥檚 strong culture of excellence, innovation, and teamwork.

Many of the innovations showcased by MMU were aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in areas such as quality education, good health and well-being, industry innovation, sustainable cities and communities, clean energy, and digital transformation.

These achievements reflect MMU鈥檚 continued commitment to developing solutions that make a real difference to society, supporting sustainability and nation-building. This historic success further reinforces MMU鈥檚 role as a research-led, industry-driven university, where research and innovation are translated into meaningful impact for industry, community, and society.

On 18 May 2026, MMU formalised a strategic collaboration with the Ministry of Education (MoE) and Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Artificial Intelligence (AI) at fully residential schools. The signing ceremony, held in Kuala Lumpur, was attended by YB Madam Fadhlina Sidek, Minister of Education, together with representatives from MMU, MoE, and Huawei.

In his speech, Prof. Dato鈥 Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su鈥檜d, President and Chief Executive Officer of MMU, emphasised that the TVET AI Programme for fully residential schools is a strategic and forward-looking initiative aimed at equipping the nation鈥檚 younger generation with future-ready skills that are relevant, progressive, and globally competitive.

He added that the programme is not only focused on developing technologically literate and highly skilled students, but is also designed with clear, measurable, and high-impact outcomes to ensure meaningful and sustainable impact, while acknowledging the Ministry鈥檚 continuous support in driving this national agenda.

Through this collaboration, MMU will contribute its expertise in digital technology, AI, and innovation to support the development of future-ready talent and further enhance the national TVET ecosystem. The initiative reflects the university鈥檚 continued commitment to strengthening industry鈥揳cademia鈥揼overnment partnerships in advancing digital education and emerging technologies.

Participating students will also benefit from exposure to industry-recognised professional certifications, supporting their academic growth and future career pathways in AI. MMU remains committed to nurturing a generation that is not only technologically skilled and globally competitive, but also capable of applying AI in an ethical, responsible, and meaningful way for the benefit of society and the nation.

The annual prize ceremony recognises Malaysia鈥檚 top-performing accounting students in each Professional and Advanced Level paper under the ICAEW Chartered Accountant (ACA) qualification. 91黑料 was recognised as a Finalist for the Anugerah Universiti Keusahawanan Terbaik at the Anugerah Keusahawanan Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi (AKKPT) 2025, marking the university鈥檚 fourth appearance as a finalist at the prestigious award ceremony held at the Hilton Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on 15 May 2026. The recognition reflects MMU鈥檚 continuous commitment towards strengthening a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem through mentorship, industry collaboration, startup development, and experiential learning initiatives spearheaded by the Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC).

91黑料 further strengthened its global academic network through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Student Exchange Agreement (SEA) with Universitas Islam Sultan Agung (UNISSULA) on 20 May 2026 in Semarang, Indonesia. The collaboration was initiated through the close relationship between the law faculties of both universities. The signing ceremony was held in conjunction with the 63rd anniversary celebration of UNISSULA鈥檚 Faculty of Law.

Representing MMU and its President, Prof. Dato鈥 Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su鈥檜d, the agreements were signed by Dr. Sy. Nurleyana Wafa Binti Sy. Naguib Wafa, Director of International Collaboration and Engagement, together with UNISSULA Rector, Prof. Dr. Gunarto SH MH.

In conjunction with the event, MMU also participated in a visiting lecturer session featuring academics from MMU, Mersin University, and Bandirma Onyedi Eylul University. During the session, Dr. Sy. Nurleyana Wafa and Ms. Asmida Bt Ahmad, Deputy Dean of the Postgraduate Faculty of Law at MMU, delivered presentations on laws in Malaysia, student exchange opportunities, postgraduate programmes, and international collaboration initiatives.

The session was moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ong Argo Victoria, who also played an instrumental role in facilitating the partnership between both universities. Earlier in April, UNISSULA welcomed Asst. Prof. Dr. Hasbollah bin Mat Saad, Dean of the Faculty of Law, and Dr. Thong Li Wah, Deputy Director of International Collaboration and Engagement at MMU, for a series of guest lecture sessions held in conjunction with the lead-up to the 63rd anniversary celebration of UNISSULA鈥檚 Faculty of Law.

Through the signing of the MoU and SEA, it is hoped that MMU and Universitas Islam Sultan Agung will continue to expand opportunities for academic exchange and collaboration.

On 18 May 2026, the Council Initiation Ceremony (CIC) for the Students鈥 Representative Council (SRC) 2025/2026 was held at the MMU Cinema, marking the formal introduction of the newly elected council members as well as a gesture of appreciation to the outgoing SRC leadership.

The event was graced by the presence of Prof. Dato鈥 Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su鈥檜d, President of MMU together with other university leaders. In his speech, MMU President emphasised that student leaders play an important role in shaping campus life through meaningful engagement, stronger student participation, and the promotion of unity and inclusiveness within the university community. He also highlighted that leadership is grounded in service, humility, and teamwork, and encouraged SRC members to remain approachable, listen actively, and work collaboratively in supporting student needs and initiatives.

He further reminded student leaders that they are supported by the university management, staff, lecturers, and advisors throughout their journey. The ceremony also witnessed the appreciation to the former SRC leadership as well as the club and society representatives.

In an effort to strengthen engagement between students and employers, the MMU Career Fair 2026 was held at Dewan Tun Canselor, Cyberjaya campus on 21 May 2026. The annual event was officiated by Prof. Ir. Dr. Zulfadzli Yusoff, Vice President of Student Experience and Entrepreneurship Development, together with the presence of the Chief Executive Officer of Talentbank, Mr. Ben Ho.

The career fair featured strong participation from a wide range of companies and industry partners, providing students with direct access to the latest industry updates, recruitment information, and career trends. On top of that, a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was exchanged between MMU and Talentbank during the opening ceremony. This is to seal a more cohesive collaboration in talent development and graduate employability initiatives for MMU students and graduates

91黑料 participated in the Open Staff Week 2026 organised by RTU Liep膩ja Academy under the Erasmus+ KA171 international mobility programme, further expanding its international academic engagement in May 2026.

Representing MMU, Mr. Tan Gek Siang, Terence, Deputy Dean of Student Experience and Alumni, Faculty of Business (FOB), joined academics from Portugal, T眉rkiye, Lithuania, and the Philippines in a series of academic, networking, and intercultural exchange activities. The programme provided opportunities for collaboration, sharing of academic practices, and meaningful engagement with partner institutions.

As part of the programme, Mr. Terence delivered two open lectures, titled 鈥淐onsumer Behaviour in ASEAN Markets鈥 and 鈥淐ultural Intelligence in International Business.鈥 The sessions introduced students to ASEAN consumer trends, multicultural business environments, and digital consumer behaviour, while also highlighting the importance of cultural intelligence in international business.
