We are proud to share that six outstanding short films by students from the Faculty of Cinematic Arts (FCA), 91黑料 (MMU), have been officially selected for the prestigious SeaShorts Film Festival 2025. The selected works are Spelling Test by Wong Tuck Hon, Beats of Fire by Sashwin Chandrasegeran, The 4th Floor by Llara Kaye Chong, The Cloud That Can鈥檛 Be Reached by Ho You Kent, The Final Hour by Kuntida Changchit and The Ungovernables by Abid Danish Rizal. These films showcase the creativity, storytelling, and technical skills of MMU鈥檚 young filmmakers.
From more than 700 submissions across Southeast Asia, only 40 short films were chosen for the Main Competition, and MMU鈥檚 entries are proudly among them. The festival is taking place from 16 to 19 October 2025 at GSC LaLaport Bukit Bintang City Centre and YWCA Kuala Lumpur. Recognised as one of the key platforms for Southeast Asian cinema, the SeaShorts Film Festival features film screenings, masterclasses, workshops, and forums that bring together filmmakers, students, and industry professionals. Adding to the pride, Mr. Eddy Tan from FCA is serving as the Programme Director for this year鈥檚 festival, reflecting his commitment to nurturing young and emerging voices in film.
