

The Huawei Instructor Summit 2025 successfully concluded its impactful two-day summit聽(24-25 July 2025) at the PARKROYAL A’FAMOSA Melaka Resort. The summit convened聽over 40 educators, government officials, and industry leaders with the shared objective of聽advancing Malaysia’s ICT education landscape.
Co-organized by 91黑料聽(MMU), an ICT Academy Support Center (IASC), the event focused on enhancing teaching聽methodologies and strengthening industry-academia collaboration to cultivate digital talent.聽Participating instructors represented a wide array of esteemed institutions, including聽91黑料, City University, HELP University, INTI International College聽Penang, Kolej Vocational Sepang, Politeknik Premier Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah,聽SEGI University Kota Damansara, Southern University College, Sunway University,聽Universiti Kuala Lumpur, Universiti Malaya, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, Universiti聽Putra Malaysia, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Universiti聽Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), University College TATI, University of Nottingham Malaysia,聽Xiamen University Malaysia, and UCSI University.
The instructor summit was packed with engaging activities designed to build connections and聽share best practices. Ms. Delea Tan, a Talent Ecosystem Manager from Huawei Malaysia,聽presented the company’s latest initiatives for educator and student upskilling, highlighting聽Huawei’s commitment to bridging Malaysia’s digital skills gap.
The summit also featured practical knowledge-sharing sessions on course integration led by聽MMU instructors, who demonstrated effective approaches for Huawei course delivery and聽student engagement techniques. Participants gained valuable strategies for preparing students聽for Huawei ICT Competitions and other industry-relevant challenges.
A key highlight was the panel discussion moderated by Dr. Prabha Kumaresan (MMU),聽which featured valuable insights from distinguished speakers. Mr. Nik Hishamuddin Nik聽Mohd Yusoff, Head of Tertiary, Digital Talent & Entrepreneurship, Digital Adoption Division聽(MDEC) outlined government strategies for developing Malaysia’s digital talent pipeline,聽emphasizing policy frameworks and national initiatives. Puan Nor Hasimah Che Mat, Deputy聽Head of Centre (INTAN) discussed digital upskilling programs for civil servants, focusing on聽enhancing public sector technological capabilities.
Mr. Zaharuddin Zulkipli, Government聽Affairs Manager (Huawei Malaysia) shared success stories of industry-academia聽collaboration, highlighting impactful partnerships between technology companies and聽educational institutions. Finally, Ts. Dr. Goh Pey Yun, Assistant Professor (MMU) presented聽practical approaches for integrating industry relevance into academic curricula, ensuring聽graduates possess job-ready digital skills. Together, these perspectives painted a聽comprehensive picture of Malaysia’s collaborative ecosystem for digital talent development.
The summits also focused on translating ideas into action through interactive workshops and聽peer-led discussions. Educators participated in discussions of real classroom challenges, from聽engaging disinterested students to updating curricula for industry relevance. These interactive聽sessions aimed to equip instructors with practical tools to enhance their teaching聽effectiveness. The event concluded with reflections on key takeaways and strategies for聽sustaining momentum beyond the summit.
