On 29 June 2021, 91黑料 (MMU) and Nexagate Sdn Bhd signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore an academic-industry partnership in nurturing cybersecurity experts and solid technopreneurs. The pact was signed by Prof. Dato鈥 Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su鈥檜d, 聽President of MMU, and Mr. Khairil Effendy Dato鈥 Ahmad Dhman Huri, Managing Director of Nexagate Sdn Bhd. The signing ceremony was witnessed by YB Dato鈥 Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Senior Minister of Defense, Ministry of Defense Malaysia, and YBhg. Datuk Hj. Rodzi Md聽 Saad, Deputy Director-General of National Security (Security Management).
Through this partnership, both parties will explore Research and Development initiatives, Capacity Building, collaborate in strengthening the MMU Startup ecosystem, and activities that increase the level of awareness in cybersecurity within the public. Nexagate is the leading Malaysian cybersecurity consulting and services provider as well as one of Asia鈥檚 leading cybersecurity firms, which is founded by our alumni, Mr. Khairil Effendy. The MoU signing ceremony was held in conjunction with CYDES 2021 which is organised by the National Cybersecurity Agency (NACSA) alongside 4 other MoUs that were recognized as strategic and integral towards nation-building agenda.
