A total of 120 final year students majoring in the field of banking and finance and staff from the Faculty of Business (FOB) attended a Distinguished Lecture Series on 鈥楥apital Market and Global Investment Outlook 2020鈥 at Melaka campus on 5 February 2020. The event was organised by the Banking and Finance Department of FOB as part of the initiative to enhance students鈥 knowledge of industry issues. The lecture was presented by Dato鈥 Dr. Azman Abd Manaf, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SJ Securities Sdn Bhd and the Chairman of the Association of Stockbroking Companies Malaysia.
During the talk, Dato鈥 Dr. Azman enlightened the audience on the Malaysian capital market and the type of financial products available in the market. Being the industry captain, Dato鈥 Dr. Azman had also highlighted the current trends, current challenges and future developments especially Fintech, digital currency and Robo-Advisory in the Malaysian capital market and also globally. The speaker was also elaborated on the professional opportunities available to the students in the current period in the field of finance. The talk was then followed by the Q&A session with the audience.
The event was also attended by Dr. Rizal Abd Razak, the Director of the Melaka campus. The organiser hopes that the students gain more insights into the current trends and further enhance their knowledge of the Malaysian and global financial markets.
