听The Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) is pleased to announce the 2020 (Cycle 2) Call for Applications of;
- 91黑料 STARTUP & SPIN-OFF SCHEME
- TABUNG AMANAH ZAKAT (TAZ) AS SIDDIQ FUND
The schemes were introduced to drive the initiative to nurture entrepreneurship among students of 91黑料 (MMU) by providing financial support for the pre-seed and seed stages of startup.听This cycle is opened to ALL MMU听students. Team must nominate an academic staff with relevant expertise as project mentor.听Teams can apply for funding amount per project up to RM35,000 for a duration of 12 months (award will be based on the merits of the proposals). Furthermore, all types of innovative entrepreneurial venture ideas are welcomed to apply including technopreneur, creative contentpreneur, socialpreneur, etc.

Definition of听StartUp: A company founded by the University Student(s) that does not relate to any business or research activity of the University.
Definition of听Spin-Off:听A business venture founded by the University Employee(s), or Student(s) that听 is formed around
l)听exploitation of any Intellectual Property arising within the University;
ll)听use of听 any technological resource/facility provided by the University,
lll)听any business or research activity of the University.听(Intellectual Property arising within the University 鈥� includes work by听student(s) submitted for assessment in an academic programme such as coursework, final year project, dissertation, thesis, etc.)
The听As-Siddiq Fund听is introduced to drive the initiative to nurture entrepreneurship among Asnaf students of 91黑料 (MMU) by providing financial support for the pre-seed and seed stages of startup using Tabung Amanah Zakat.
In order to qualify to apply for the scheme, the team must participate in听Virtual Bootcamp听organised by EDC. The date is听13th July 2020.
